Hello! I’m Abi - the hands, heart, and imagination behind every piece of jewellery you’ll find here at The Silver Keyway.

The name itself is a quiet nod to my love of Greek mythology, especially Hekate, the torch‑bearing guardian of thresholds, crossroads, and hidden ways. Her symbolism; keys, intuition, and the magic found in in‑between places has always fascinated me. It felt only right that my craft should carry her influence in its name.

My love for all things whimsical, earthy, and crystal‑related began when I was young, sparked by a trip with my grandma to the Blue John mines. I was always creating something, always crafting, always chasing that spark of magic and whimsy in the everyday. For a long time I wasn’t sure where that creative energy would lead, until I discovered wire‑wrapping in my early adulthood. Something clicked. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion, then into craft fairs, artisan markets, and a life shaped by creativity.

Those markets didn’t just build my confidence, they inspired me to solo travel across Europe, collecting crystals and stories along the way. Many of the stones I use have been sourced from my travels, and I do my best to ensure they are as ethically obtained as crystals can be.

I’m currently studying English Literature and Creative Writing. When I graduate, my partner and I (along with our cat, Blue!) plan to convert a van and travel around England, crafting in nature and attending more markets - the places where I feel most at home.
